I enjoyed reading your creative narrative and hearing about the creativity of your students. Are they pursuing degrees in film or writing, or do they take this course for other reasons?
Thank you! These students are typically general Ed non-majors. We explore the flexibility and transferability across writing in many genres to various audiences. Often they come in lacking confidence, so I like to start with this exercise to highlight to them that they are better at writing than they might think by accessing what they do all the time, storytelling. I was so happy to experience a successful version of it this quarter and it truly invigorated them!
